Substitute teachers needed
Transportation Update We want to thank our parents and students for their patience as we work through some transportation challenges during the first few days of school. We have had several substitute drivers and a few unexpected bus issues, which have caused some delays and confusion with routes. We are working closely with our transportation staff to get routes and drivers settled into a consistent routine as quickly as possible. We understand that changes and delays can be frustrating, and we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we work through these first few days. Our goal is to make sure all of our students get to and from school safely and efficiently. Thank you for your continued support and patience! We appreciate our Beggs families! 💛🖤

David Garrett BHS English Journalism I am a 50-year broadcast veteran who started in Small Town radio in 1975. I was the voice of the Dallas Cowboys for a short 3-year stint during Barry Switzer's tenure from 1995 to 1998, including calling Super Bowl 30 for the Cowboys Radio Network. I was born in Okemah and came to Beggs to help the English classes finish the year around spring break of 2026. I've been emergency certified at Morris and at Okemah, but now I am provisionally certified in English language arts and journalism and will teach both classes in several different forms for the Demons. I live in Henryetta with my puppy dog Jack, I will teach four classes of sophomore English, a journalism class, and a broadcasting class which will include sponsoring all of our streaming games on beggs demons.tv. I have a ton of knowledge I would love to pass along to some young man or woman and sit back and watch them improve throughout the year on the broadcast side. I believe I can bring an element that the students have not had the opportunity to enjoy before. Every now and then I'll jump behind the microphone and show some practicum and then give the mic over to our students. My main goal is to be the best teacher I can possibly be to hand down some of this information to a hopeful broadcaster or news writer. I'm now a full-time Beggs Demon and very proud of it.

Kaleel Shumate BES/BMS/BHS My name is Kaleel Shumate, and I am excited to begin another school year as an Elementary Paraprofessional at Beggs Public Schools! This will be my second year serving as a paraprofessional, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue working with and supporting our students. I graduated from Missouri State University in 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in Digital Film and Television Production and a minor in Athletic Training Care. In addition to my role in the classroom, I will also be coaching 5th and 6th grade boys basketball, serving as an Assistant Coach for the High School Boys Basketball Team, and helping the Beggs Football Team as a Film Coach. This will also be my second year coaching, and I’m looking forward to another great season. I am truly proud to be a part of the Beggs community and can’t wait to meet new students, build relationships with families, and do everything I can to help our kids succeed both in the classroom and in athletics. I’m looking forward to an amazing year. Go Demons! 🖤💛

Coach Staci Carter promoted to Head Girls Basketball Coach at Beggs Public Schools. A message from Coach Carter: I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to continue coaching the girls! The game of basketball is ever changing along with the caliber of athletes. I am dedicated to growing and supporting our students as they navigate through their formative years. I have played almost all levels of college basketball and I can say with conviction that one of my priorities is to get our athletes to college! I am elated to be a role model to these young ladies and hopefully they want to carve their own path not just follow mine. I’m not just building a program; I’m building girls into confident, courageous, smart, GRITTY young women who face challenges head on with a smile on their face and heads held high. I am blessed to be in a community full of love and support! Thank you Beggs! #grittynotpretty

Demon Nation Family It is with a heavy heart as I send this message out this evening.  Mrs. Chesser was in a car wreck with her family yesterday evening.  This morning Talan Chesser, recent graduate and former Beggs Demon, succumbed to his injuries and passed away.  Please send your prayers to envelop Mrs. Chesser and Talan’s family and friends during this time of mourning.   We understand that this is a tragic incident and that you may need tomorrow to process this information.  We will be providing counseling services at the high school on Friday beginning at noon, for anyone who would like to come in.
