Technology Students  Utilizing Grant Materials

Student in Mrs. Six's technology courses at Beggs High School arrived to class this school year to new technology equipment to help them acquire new skills.

"This year I applied for and received the Oklahoma CTE FY24 Lottery Grant in the amount of $15,000," said Six.

" Using the grant money awarded, I purchased 11 new Dell CTO 3460-i7 student workstations equipped with Windows 11 and Microsoft Office 365."

Six said students will learn, practice and apply the Microsoft Office programs Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. This opportunity will allow students to acquire practical skills that align with the real-world job demand, making them more competitive in the job market. 

She stressed that the students will learn the very important skill of collaboration.

"Collaboration skills are honed as students collaborate on projects using Office 365’s shared documents and communication tools," said Six.

She also stated that students become proficient in using technology for productivity and organization which brings about significant advancements in the learning experiences of high school. 

"By modernizing my program and integrating Office 365, my students are equipped with essential skills and resources for their future careers, preparing them to excel in a technology-driven world while fostering collaboration, creativity, and adaptability," shared Six.
