Chasity Clay 1st place Cross Country

Beggs High School junior Chasity Clay earned a first place finish at the Oilton Cross Country meet this weekend.

Clay finished the 2-mile in 15:21, followed by runners from Earlsboro and Kellyville.

This is just her second season running cross country.  She is the lone BHS girls runner.

Clay's brother Isaiah runs for the Golden Demon boys team.

"I like the challenge of cross country," said Clay.

"I know that if I put enough effort in it and push myself real hard, that I'll cross the finish line," she added.

Clay is coached by BHS Cross Country Coach Denise Gray.
