Please write a short opinion essay using the OREO outline (Opinion, Reason, Explanation, Opinion). The topic of this mini essay is: What is your opinion on virtual learning? Please provide an introduction paragraph (state opinion), a body paragraph (state reason and example), and a conclusion paragraph (restate opinion). Your essay will have three (3) paragraphs in total. Remember a complete paragraph has a minimum of five (5) sentences. You may type up this essay on google docs or hand write it on lined paper. It will be due when we return to school.

Veterans Day is intended to honor all the people who served in the American armed forces, both those who are alive and those who died, although it's largely geared toward living veterans. Veterans Day, celebrated on November 11, is a day to express gratitude to America's service members, past and present, who served in both war and peace.
Choose one of following for your virtual assignment. Please turn in when you return to class.

* Write a one-page (2-3 paragraph) story about a Veteran or

Find a Y-shaped branch! Take a nice little hike or even just your own back yard. Maybe ask your dog to help. Find a Y-shaped branch. The branch should be no longer than 12 inches (1ft.) in length with the Y-shape approximately 6-8 inches at its widest point. See picture example. Clean it up so it looks similar to the picture. Bring it with you to school on Tuesday and it will be used for a class project.

Brainstorm and make a list of all the places water is found on Earth (surface, underground and in the atmosphere.)Then assign a % of water you think is in each of these places. This must total 100%. For example: Ocean 75%, Lakes 20%, Groundwater 2.5%, Moisture in the atmosphere 2.5%.(Water is found in many more places than listed above.) If you have access to a computer, you can research this. We will begin our unit on water and the water cycle when we return to school.
Randol 5th grade History
Write a paragraph advertising an adventure to the New World. Try to persuade someone from England to come settle in one of the 13 colonies. Choose a specific colony to advertise. Include resources they would find there, or an attraction of religious freedom, possibility of finding gold, or an opportunity for land ownership. Be creative and have fun with this! (You can make it exaggerated and funny if you want-even sounding like an obnoxious salesman.)
