Beggs Middle School

This week at BMS: 8th graders adventured to OSUIT for a college day. They explored the nursing, culinary, mechanic, and engineering departments. OSUIT did a great job explaining what they offer students & kept these 8th graders engaged. We danced in the nursing department, we completed an obstacle course in mechanics, we did a scavenger hunt and bingo in culinary, and many hands on demonstrations in engineering. What a great way to end the year by beginning planning for high school! Meanwhile back on campus this week, Mrs. Callahan’s 7th and 8th graders created comic strips with a hero/villain theme. They worked hard to create stories with problems/resolutions. Mrs. Chaney’s FACS classes made cookies out of cake batter. Lots of smiles after that class! 5th and 6th graders participated in a track day hosted by the elementary. The metals were worn as crowns of achievement by these kids. BMS ended the week with the color run/walk. Middle school was ecstatic to celebrate the end of the school year with friends with color fun! Thanks to the fire department for helping make this a blast!

Beggs TSA competes at the 2026 State Conference. 5 students from the Beggs TSA program competed at the State Conference that was held at the Embassy Suites Conference Center in Norman, Oklahoma, April 14th-16th, 2026 Our students have worked hard all year long and put in a lot of extra hours after school preparing for state contest. The results: Top 20 in Flight-Brigance 10th place- T-Shirt Design-Holland 9th place-Structures- Houser and Wesley 4th place-Invention and Innovation-Wesley, Brigance and Peters 4th place Flight- Peters 3rd place-Pin Design-Holland Congratulations on a job well done.

Congratulations!! Four students on the middle school academic team competed in the State Tournament of Champions this past weekend at Rose State College in Mid-West City and represented our school well. In order to compete, these students had to place in the top Five at a qualifer event throughout the year. We had 2 Eighth graders and 2 Seventh graders qualify. Our 2 Seventh graders placed in mutiple test which qualified them for the scholars test. The scholars test covers 6 subject areas with 200 questions, and all questions are challenging and geared for advanced understanding. There were 1616 tests given, 564 individuals from across the state, and only 46 students who qualified as scholars. Results M.Karbowski- 4th out of 70-Language Arts 8th out of 50 Humanities and Fine Arts 9th out of 65 Science 10th out of 46 Math 16th out of 46 Scholars D.Houser- 3rd out of 46 Math 7th out of 65 Science 12th out of 66 Social Studies 14th out of 46 Scholars D.Allen- 19th out of 97 Science Q. Lee- 17th out of 113 Language Arts Congratulations again on a job well done.

Big night for our Beggs MS Esports teams! 🎮🔥 Both Fortnite teams went 2-0, Rocket League picked up a big win, and while Mario Kart took a tough loss, they still showed great effort and sportsmanship. Proud of every player for competing, improving, and representing us well. Let’s keep building! 💪🏆 Special thanks to Green Country Technology Center for letting us use their facilities.

A special thank you to Okmulgee County 4H and their officers for donating teacher supplies and two teacher desks to help with our disaster relief efforts.
