The 2022 baseball season will begin tomorrow for Beggs Baseball as the Golden Demons travel to Okmulgee to face the Bulldogs.
The Demons, under the direction of new Head Coach Cody Tutwiler, will be led by four seniors.
Braden Gable, Wyatt Nail, Andrew Duclos and Dalton Hastings bring several years of baseball experience to the team.
"They have been a core bunch the past four years and will be looked to have critical roles on this year's team," said Tutwiler. "We will only go as far as they lead us."
Coach Tutwiler, who comes to Beggs from Jones High School, said he has found his new Beggs players to be hardworking and coachable kids. He is also proud of their high character.
"They understand the time and effort needed to be successful and are willing to go the limit to get there," he said. "
Tutwiler said the 2022 squad has experience in many of the important positions, but are young in some spots.
The Demons, both experienced and young, will be put to the test this week with the Okmulgee game tomorrow and their home opener on Thursday with Berryhill. Game time is 5 p.m.
